Mike is a self-taught photographer with an interest in nature and scenic photography. He decided to make his photos available to the public through this website in an effort to illustrate the natural beauty of the wildlife and landscapes in the Low Country areas of South Carolina.
Mike grew up in North Carolina with most of his career in the air lines and technology sector. Mike was always interested in photography and since moving to Pawleys Island in 2006 can now explore the many photographic opportunities in the area.
Many of Mike's photos were taken in and around Pawleys Island, Huntington Beach State Park, and Murrells Inlet, SC. The wide variety of migratory birds that move through this area every year offer photographers many opportunities to get that once in a lifetime shot. Mike especially enjoys the opportunity to capture the amazing colors of the sunrise and sunsets on the beaches and waterway. At certain times of the year, the sunrises and sunsets can be extreme.
The more time we spend outdoors, really watching the sights and listening to the sounds of nature, the better we begin to understand how fragile our environment is and how important it is to protect it for future generations.
Mike is a member of the Seacoast Artist Guild and currently serves on the Board of Directors
